LAW INTERPRETATION AND TECHNICAL UNIT
Phillip West [B.Comm Hons, H.Dip Tax, LLM (Tax Law)(UCT)];
Master Tax Practitioner (SA)
Since 2003 Phillip has specialized exclusively in VAT and is widely regarded as an industry leader.
Phillip completed his traineeship with PriceWaterhouseCoopers after which he specialised in Tax. He spent two years contracted to the Woodmead Project at the South African Revenue Service (SARS), (an initiative undertaken by then Minister of Finance, Trevor Manuel, in order to engage private sector skills to conduct in-depth Income Tax and VAT audits of multinational companies).
Peter Franck [Nat Dip Acc and Audit]
As the previous head of VAT at the SARS, Peter was integrally involved in the introduction of VAT in South Africa. Peter worked at the SARS for many years and is also a regular VAT speaker as well as a VAT consultant to the East African office of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Hannelie Olivier [B.Comm Hons. (Fin. Accounting)(US)];
Tax Practitioner (SA)
Hannelie has an intimate practical and theoretical understanding of accounting systems attained during her more than twelve years serving in financial management and later as the Group Financial Manager of SAIL, at the time a listed company with more than fifty entities within the group.
Hannelie joined Finvision in 2005 to focus exclusively on the analysis of data and was instrumental in the development of Finvision’s data analysis methodology.
Riccardo Sabattoli [B. Bus. Sc. (Finance Honours) - UCT;
Post Grad Accounting – UCT]; CA (SA)
Riccardo completed his traineeship with PricewaterhouseCoopers, and thereafter worked for 2 years in London first as a Group Accountant, and then as a Financial Analyst for WS Atkins plc. Returning to Cape Town, he then worked as a Corporate Tax Specialist for Chevron South Africa before joining Finvision.
Katie Payne [B. Bus. Sc. (Finance Honours) - UCT;
Post Grad Accounting – UCT]; CA (SA)
Katie completed her traineeship with PricewaterhouseCoopers in their retail division, and thereafter worked as an assistant manager in financial services before joining Finvision.
Douglas Woolley [B. Comm (Financial Accounting) - UCT; Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting – UCT]; CA (SA) Pending
Douglas completed his traineeship at Grant Thornton. For a period of his traineeship, he was seconded to Finvision before joining Finvision full time.
AUDIT SPECIALIST UNIT
Through their exposure to audit, commerce and industry, our Audit Specialist Unit have gained extensive experience in ERP and the implementation of sound fiscal controls.
Charles Mazhindu, BCompt - UNISA; BCom (Hons.) [Accounting] – University of Natal; APT Audit Specialist Course – University of Johannesburg; CA (SA)
Charles completed his traineeship with Ernst & Young before moving to the Management Consulting Services Department of the firm. He subsequently joined Argil (Proprietary) Limited, a then newly formed joint venture between Ernst & Young and Worldwide Africa Investment Holdings (Proprietary) Limited, before resigning to join The South African Breweries Limited. Charles co-founded Integrasol Continuum CA (SA) (now Moruni MB Incorporated) and was appointed as the partner responsible for external audit, business development, technical consultancy and risk management.
Marc Schutte [B.Rek Hons. (US) APT Audit Specialist Course - UCT]; Tax Practitioner (SA)
Marc completed traineeship with KPMG and was thereafter appointed Group Financial Manager of Blastrite. He later served as the Group Financial Officer of Spur Corporation, a listed Franchisor, before becoming the South African representative for a consortium of foreign investors actively involved in the local private equity market.
Bhekumuzi Bukhosini, BCompt - UNISA; BCom (Hons.) [Accounting] – University of Natal; APT Audit Specialist Course – University of Johannesburg; CA (SA)
Bheki completed his traineeship with Ernst & Young and thereafter joined Nedcor as a Process Assurance Auditor (IT projects auditor). Thereafter moving to the SARS as a Tax Auditor for the Central Enforcement Unit and then, Nampak Limited as Group Support Manager. In March 2006 he joined Moruni MB Incorporated as an executive director responsible for external audit, project management, service delivery, corporate governance and tax compliance.
Rachel Mukuze, BCompt - UNISA; BCompt. (Hons.) - UNISA
Rachel completed her traineeship with Ernst & Young. She joined Moruni in June 2007 as a Senior Audit Manager.
